The Pastor App stores pastoral care information you choose to capture — notes, prayers, tasks, promises, and related contact details for people in your church. That data is sensitive. This page summarizes how we treat it.
What we collect
- Account email and profile details you provide at sign-in / onboarding
- Pastoral CRM data you enter or confirm (people, notes, tasks, etc.)
- Voice transcripts you submit for extraction (audio stays on your device)
- Billing customer and subscription status needed to provide paid access
- Pseudonymous product-usage events used to understand feature adoption
- Basic operational logs needed to run the service
How we use it
To provide the product: sync your data across devices under your login, generate AI proposals you must confirm, and answer Ask questions from your own records. We do not sell pastoral data. We do not use counseling notes to train public models.
Payments
Subscriptions are purchased and managed through Stripe on the product web app. Stripe receives the account and payment information needed to process the subscription. We store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and status, but The Pastor App does not receive or store your full card number.
Product analytics
We use PostHog to understand how the product is used and where it needs improvement. Events may include a stable account identifier, platform and app information, a feature event name, and coarse properties such as counts or statuses. We do not send names, email addresses, church-member information, pastoral notes, prayers, task text, voice transcripts, AI prompts, or authentication tokens to PostHog. Automatic screen and touch capture, session replay, location lookup, and automatic error capture are disabled.
AI processing
Transcripts and prompts are sent to server-side functions that call a model provider. Keys and prompts never ship in the app. Confidential notes are excluded from chat retrieval unless you opt in for a thread.
Your controls
Export your data from Settings. Delete your account to remove church-scoped records via a hard-delete cascade. Contact hello@thepastorapp.com for privacy requests.
This website
The marketing site at thepastorapp.com is content-only and does not access your pastoral database. If we add a waitlist form later, it will collect only an email address.
